By now it should be painfully apparent to all but the most befuddled, celebrity worshipping O-Bots and their asinine counterparts in the malodorous and fraudulent Tea Party movement that there is really very little actual difference between the regimes of President Barack Obama and those of his predecessors. While I admit that the Bush-Cheney regime and the neocon ghouls that filled it has a special place in historical infamy and while there is little substantive policy difference Obama is an improvement over that confederacy of dunces, he has slid very easily into the suit of the American Emperor. Some of my more cynical friends on the far left called it as it was and I regret alienating them during the primary process. If I could take back my words on Hillary Rodham Clinton as being the "Joan of Arc of the dry pussy demographic" and other nasty comments I would do so today. Not that Mrs. Rodham-Clinton isn't a corporatist warmonger of the highest order but at least there is some semblence of being qualified while Mr. Obama is clearly not up to the task. Fortuately for him the real power in the US of A rests with the financial oligarchy, the big energy cartels and the uber rich and of course the state of Israel and it's hordes of fifth-columnists in the Pentagon, Christian churches and most importantly the U.S. mainstream media.
 
During the first year and a half of the Obama administration, the Pope of Hope has presided over the largest and most obscene taxpayer funded bailout of Wall Street criminals, hedge fund hyenas and the degenerate gamblers who have detroyed the global economy with their derivatives. There is nothing that Obama could have possibly done, short of beheading small children on the front lawn of the White House that could even remotely top the gross criminality of the Wall Street swindler bailout. Granted that it began in the final months of the Bush administration under Henry Paulson, another of the Goldman Sachs financial predators who are allowed to regularly slither into the halls of government power no matter who the president or party in control is but it was Obama's ongoing failure to hold any of the thieves accountable. Not that accountability is very big with any U.S. leader, were this a sane and moral country Richard B. Cheney would currently be rotting in a prison cell, Clinton would have never allowed the Iran-Contra traitors to get off of the hook to save the ass of Poppy Bush and Ford would have never pardoned Nixon. But this is not any sane (not even remotely so) or decent society rooted in any sort of a moral value system. That being said, prepare for the screws to continue to be put to the average American schmuck by the likes of Wall Street moles like Timothy Geithner and Helicopter Ben Bernanke.
 
 

 

Obama has made it very clear that he understands who he represents and despite the lip service that he and others in his position pay to the little guy the average American is shit out of luck when it comes to expecting any sort of a level playing field when it comes to the mockery that is democracy. The corporations long ago bought and paid for this place and to borrow from the late, great George Carlin "it's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. Face it people, the game is rigged! Any resistance has been co-opted, for example the media suckling of the ridiculous teabaggers who are nothing more than a bunch of pissed-off white people completely assimilated by the criminal Republican party to in a true historical context take to the streets in protest to support the British Monarchy. Obama's second term is practically guaranteed unless he gets some kind of wild hair up his ass about actually going FDR and goes off of the reservation but that ain't gonna happen. While his popularity rating will soon be plunging there is zero real alternative and a bunch of fish-belly white, pig-headed, racist idiots dancing around with their Gadsden flags isn't any sort of a real political movement, tens of thousands of angry white males may want to cum on Sarah Palin's tits but the oligarchy has no use for an idiot like that. Obama will be our Herbert Hoover, his bailout of the banking criminals has the economy on the precipiece of a double-dipper as Friday's 324 point plunge in the DJIA (Dick Jammed In Ass) due to a lackluster jobs report is only evidence that the illusions of a recovery are running on fumes rather than picking up steam as the payroll pundits will have us believe.

Obama's reign will be just one more downgrade in the once great prestige of America, the brand name has been so thoroughly dipped in shit even the ultimate product as president can't save it. Hello third world status! The imperialist, budget busting wars of choice not only continue but have been escalated by Obama who has neither the balls nor the experience to stand up to the war freaks in the Pentagon. I have already spoken of the Wall Street strip-mining, there is a mega-enviornmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico thanks to the dicking around by the Obama administration in bringing B.P. to heel and it's only going to get worse as the precious black gold spreads thoughout the Gulf and out into the Atlantic. It's ironic in a very funny sort of way that the Republican party convention has picked Tampa for the site of their 2012 convention, the "Drill, Baby, Drill!" chickens are coming home to roost in the soon to be oil-coated diseased penis of America that is the state of Florida. Still there is zero chance of a legitimate contender rising from that pack of swine, rats and roaches to challenge Obama. He has about six and a half more years now to finish the job that Bush and Reagan started, Clinton abetted and has been blessed by bankers, polluters and war criminals everywhere.

And when all is said and done, the economy is in depression, the police state is in place, half the planet is occupied by U.S. troops and mercenaries and the ability of the biosphere to support human life has been damaged beyond repair Americans can be left to do that one thing that they have always been able to do so well: blame it on the nigger.

Bibi Netanyahu: Madman Across the Water

The only thing more predictable than the feckless response to yet another Israeli human rights atrocity, for example the insipid Joe Biden's latest nauseating boot-licking that was naturally greeted with roars of approval by the fifth-columnists at AIPAC is the ugly truth that the next escalation will be worse. With the IDF's murderous attack of the Gaza aid flotilla on Monday that left at least twenty activists dead and dozens more injured as well as created yet another international crisis with the fascist Netanyahu regime it speaks volumes that our quisling politicians here in Der Heimat are once again leaping to defend Israel's criminality. As Pat Buchanan once pegged it dead on that the U.S. Congress was "Israeli-occupied territory" the actions of those who would continue to fiddle while America burns are once again doing their duty in throwing their unqualified support behind the actions of a murderous foreign power.


Given the slow news day on Memorial Day, the crackerjack Israeli propaganda machine and their on the payroll dual loyalists in the American corporate press were able to rapidly spin the story into the standard poor little Israel is always under attack and has every right to defend itself swill. The American media as the guardians of gangster governments both at home and abroad were not only working around the clock on Tuesday to flush this latest act of blood thirsty thuggery down the memory hole but had even had opened yet another storyline on (gag) Natalee Holloway's suspected killer - you can't make stuff like this up! Americans, as some of the dumbest bitches and bastards on the planet just devour tabloid garbage such as this and other celebrity cheese yet are empty vessels when it comes to any sort of substantive knowledge of real events that occur outside the borders of our lemming infested fortress of fear. When Isreal strorms into Gaza like the Nazi Wermacht routing the Warsaw Ghetto as it inevitably will I would bet the farm that we will be inundated with the standard Jon Benet, O.J. Simpson and Michael Jackson updates as well as the hysterically hyped missing young white child story that in a saner time would be relegated to local news.

And make no mistake that Isreal's aggression is only going to continue until they are able to successfully start World War III, the neocons in the U.S., notably the Kristol Gang are amping up the Nuke Iran cacophony as standard food for demagoguery in the run-up to the November elections and according to stories in the foreign press, Israel has parked nuclear submarines off of the coast of Iran. The drive to take out the Iranian government of that painted up fake devil, the latest "New Hitler" Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose words have been twisted for years to feed the fear machine that he stated that he would wipe Isreal off of the face of the planet is of a pathology to the Israeli right-wing government that dare I say ranks with the uncontrollable urges of a garden variety pederast. Only the pederast doesn't have access to a massive nuclear arsenal with God knows what cities (Washington? New York? London?) have pre-programmed target coordinates. The ongoing failure of the United States and the latest neutered administration to deal appropriately with this armed to the teeth rogue state may very soon result in the apocalyptic conflagration that so many of the Israeli shock troops in the U.S., namely the Christian Right are peeing in their pants for. Only when the missiles fly and the air is filled with lung charring fallout they are not going to fly dirty nasty nekkid up to Heaven to sit at the foot of God's throne while Warrior Jesus is down here kicking the asses of all of us heathens for their amusement - we are all just going to perish in a huge atomic fireball, at least those of us who are lucky will.

The collective cowardice in the U.S. of A over Netanyahu's war crimes is expected, at least poor old Jimmy Carter's Carter Center has come out and denounced the savagery for what it is. This of course will be slapped down immediately by anti-American tools like Abe Foxman at the ADL, the fetid Alan Dershowitz and the rest of the neocon pocket media. Modern day prophet Glenn Beck will use his FOX News pulpit to scream for the blood for Carter and others while denouncing them as anti-Semites and terrorist appeasers and the brain dead useful idiot teabaggers will be ready to launch pogroms on order from their master. I have already paid a requisite visit to the spineless liberal dens of cyber iniquity like Daily Kos among others and the censorship of any legitimate critics of Netanyahu's bloodlust is as savage as anything that I have seen. I really dig the phony left here in America (sardonic laughter) when it really comes down to it they are about as left as Stalin with their embracement of authoritarian state power, Obama's illegal spying and most offensively the naked body scanners in airports manned by TSA goons who drool over images of ten year olds. The left is worthless and when history is written about the imminent collapse of the American Empire their Neville Chamberlain style appeasement will be duly noted.

In a plug for one of my favorite, most consistent and uncompromising truth tellers I must excerpt the following from Justin Raimondo's latest entitled The Mediterranean Massacre over on Antiwar.com:

As long as we Americans continue to tolerate the enabling of this genocidal fascist machine operating with total impunity under the guise of religion then we should not be surprised when the monster shows up at our own door.

Nowhere is the terminal decline of the American Empire, at least the terminal moral decline more evident than in the ongoing worship of all things military. As Ike warned of the dangers of the Military Industrial Complex in his farewell speech the chickens have come home to roost in 2010 with our national state of permanent war. By now it should be evident to all but the most blinded lemmings and willfully ignorant fake left Democratic party tools that Barack Obama is a fake, a fraud and a phony. As I called it shortly after the grand inauguration of the latest American Emperor, the Pope of Hope is nothing more than a teflon-coated bullshit salesman. Nothing that Obama has done (or more appropriately NOT done) has done anything to reign in the militarism run amok than the American Reichstag Fire that was 9/11 provided endless justification for. Nothing Obama has done has reigned in the war machine and the costly wars of conquest are never given any mention in our national propagandist media.

I get a sardonic chuckle how all of the so-called deficit obsessed charlatans in Congress who have the audacity to pass themselves off as conservatives will shovel trillions into the Wall Street casinos, cut off the unemployment benefits of the poor schmucks who have become a part of our star-spangled economic diaspora but never withhold one thin dime from the bloated and bloodthirsty Pentagon. The fake liberals are no different, one of the things that turned me off on the pathetic and dysfunctional 'left' was their immediate embracing of military power when the cruise missiles served their political agendas. Take for example the much hyped Iranian Green Revolution; watching self-proclaimed progressives prostrate themselves to the neocon propaganda, mobilize on Twitter, adorn themselves in green and weep for poor doomed Neda was enough to make one want to vomit. As Mike Ruppert pegs the American Left dead on as "..the most delusional, ineffective, and compromised political worm ball I have ever experienced, past and present", they are nothing more than defenders of the status quo, guardians of the temples of the oligarchs and worshippers in the pews of the church of the blessed little green Army men. Rome fell when Caesar crossed the Rubicon and America fell when the Constitution was discarded in the aftermath of the false flag 'terrorist' attacks of September 11, 2001 provided Bush and Cheney and their fascist ilk all the justification that they needed to strip Americans of our rights and jobs at home and to crusade for global hegemony abroad.

Today, in the aftermath of Memorial Day, a holiday which should be observed somberly for all of those who were fed into the imperial meatgrinder by lying weasel politicians yet instead turns into the institutionalized worship of death it is time to expose the lies. Lies are all that we have, our history is built on a foundation of prevarications, American exceptionalism and revisionism that continue to be perpetuated in order to wage wars - or more appropriately to drop bombs on women and children and blow up wedding parties with predator drones directed from air-conditioned rooms filled with gutless geeks weaned on violent video games. The worship of the cult of miltarism permeates every element of our society, there can never be an NFL football game without the requisite pre-game flyovers, our children are exposed to tens of thousands of simulated murders on television, become judge, jury and executioner in increasingly violent and sophisticated video games, the Christian church has veered into anti-Muslim bloodlust and as a society we are deily indoctrinated to accept any military action no matter how costly or bloody. This is a long and complex rant to get into now so I'll save it for another time. What I do want to offer up here is a story that strikes at the very heart of the war machine, it's propagandists and the mouthpiece for the Military Industrial Complex that is Senator John McCain, the LOSER of the 2008 presidential election although you would never know it thanks to a corporatist propaganda apparatus that Herr Goebbels would be proud of. So influential is McCain, largely the result of the enduring power of the official myth of the returned POW who endured years of hell in the Hanoi Hilton and rise through the political cesspool that has sucked down American democracy that he arguably holds more power than the man who trounced him.

The story that I refer to is not a new story, it has been suppressed as anything remotely resembling the truth is always flushed down the memory hole by our media Mockingbirds. The American Conservative magazine has given new life to a piece by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Sydney Schanberg on the instumental role that McCain has played in covering up the ugliness of the POWs who were abandoned in Nam who didn't happen to be privileged children of the fleet Admiral like he. John McCain and the POW Cover-Up is a devastating indictment of a charlatan who was able to survive his role in the Keating Five scandal, having his balls torn off by a vicious Karl Rove black operation during the 2000 GOP primary in South Carolina and learning to kiss the whip by being instrumentl in the codifying of torture in the post-9/11 Homeland. That a man whose myth has so completely been constructed on his being tortured by Charlie in Nam this piece is the sort of real investigative journalism that has gone AWOL in America. Of course this story, if it ever emerges to see the light of day will be savagely attacked by public relations flacks, government operatives and their multi-millionaire media demagogues like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the swine and tagged with that most dreaded of all American pejoratives "Conspiracy Theory". That is what the government calls any evidence that happens to conflict with their official conspiracy theory, like the one that Lee Harvey Oswald alone killed Kennedy, or the one about the CIA not aiding and abetting the international narcotics trade to finance covert operations, or George W. Bush, his brother and the SCOTUS rigging the 2000 elections or the biggest lie of them all: that 19 amateurs with boxcutters and a few guys in a cave over in Afghanistan could circumvent the entire American air defense command, outwit every intelligence agency and successfully hijack and fly planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon to hit the reset button on over two centuries of American history.

Given how the Vietnam debacle set the stage for the newest imperialist wars it is imperative that the big lies persist. That the hippies, the damned libruls [sic] and the media stabbed our fine baby-killing troops in the collective back and refused to let them win the fucking war. The stab in the back is fascist propaganda of the finest vintage and was instumental in allowing an embittered Germany emerge from the devastation of the Versailles Treaty to goosestep their eventual way to a rendevous with historical infamy. It was used by the cancerous Republican party to catapult Reagan into the White House (see this great Harper's piece by Kevin Baker entitled Stabbed in the Back! The Past and Future of a Right-Wing Myth) in order to restore our national glory and lay out the foundation for the neocon Project For the New American Century. The first Gulf War was built on lies, one of the most dastardly being the Kuwaiti babies being ripped from their incubators by Saddam's goons but allowed America to wash the taste of Vietnam out. Of course there were the ass-kickings given to military powerhouse Grenada by the Gipper and the deposing of former partner in drug-dealing and murder Manuel Noriega in Panama by Poppy to build on but with the first war as a televised extravaganza America was back. The potency of the Vietnam legacy is still as fresh as Napalm laced black tar heroin as is evident by this Kelly B. Vlahos's piece Reflections on Rolling Thunder, that describes the war worship on Memorial Day 2010. Like the proverbial Bouncing Betty going off on the national psyche the old mythology of the spitting on soldiers, the betrayal of Hanoi Jane and the stabbing in the back are as fresh as the rotting corpses in Saigon once were, and fed off by the same parasites, scum like John McCain all too eager to continue to gloss over his singing songs for Charlie for favorable treatment in the Hanoi Hilton while his fellow prisoners were being beaten and eaten alive by rats. You can always count on the American right-wing as exemplified by the teabaggers and the Palinazis to continue to rip off the scabs from the festering wound of Nam for political expedience. This is why Schanberg's piece is so important.

As former Reagan-Bush CIA director and Wall Street mover and shaker William Casey once put it: “We will know that we have succeeded when everything the public believes is false.”

This Country Needs a Few Good Communists

The witch hunts against communists in the United States were used to silence socialists, anarchists, pacifists and all those who defied the abuses of capitalism. Those “anti-Red” actions were devastating blows to the political health of the country. The communists spoke the language of class war. They understood that Wall Street, along with corporations such as British Petroleum, is the enemy. They offered a broad social vision which allowed even the non-communist left to employ a vocabulary that made sense of the destructive impulses of capitalism. But once the Communist Party, along with other radical movements, was eradicated as a social and political force, once the liberal class took government-imposed loyalty oaths and collaborated in the witch hunts for phantom communist agents, we were robbed of the ability to make sense of our struggle. We became fearful, timid and ineffectual. We lost our voice and became part of the corporate structure we should have been dismantling.

Hope in this age of bankrupt capitalism will come with the return of the language of class conflict. It does not mean we have to agree with Karl Marx, who advocated violence and whose worship of the state as a utopian mechanism led to another form of enslavement of the working class, but we have to speak in the vocabulary Marx employed. We have to grasp, as Marx did, that corporations are not concerned with the common good. They exploit, pollute, impoverish, repress, kill and lie to make money. They throw poor families out of homes, let the uninsured die, wage useless wars to make profits, poison and pollute the ecosystem, slash social assistance programs, gut public education, trash the global economy, loot the U.S. Treasury and crush all popular movements that seek justice for working men and women. They worship only money and power. And, as Marx knew, unfettered capitalism is a revolutionary force that consumes greater and greater numbers of human lives until it finally consumes itself. The nightmare in the Gulf of Mexico is the perfect metaphor for the corporate state. It is the same nightmare seen in postindustrial pockets from the old mill towns in New England to the abandoned steel mills in Ohio. It is a nightmare that Iraqis, Pakistanis and Afghans, mourning their dead, live each day.

Capitalism was once viewed in America as a system that had to be fought. But capitalism is no longer challenged. And so, even as Wall Street steals billions of taxpayer dollars and the Gulf of Mexico is turned into a toxic swamp, we do not know what to do or say. We decry the excesses of capitalism without demanding a dismantling of the corporate state. The liberal class has a misguided loyalty, illustrated by environmental groups that have refused to excoriate the Obama White House over the ecological catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico. Liberals bow before a Democratic Party that ignores them and does the bidding of corporations. The reflexive deference to the Democrats by the liberal class is the result of cowardice and fear. It is also the result of an infantile understanding of the mechanisms of power. The divide is not between Republican and Democrat. It is a divide between the corporate state and the citizen. It is a divide between capitalists and workers. And, for all the failings of the communists, they got it.

Unions, organizations formerly steeped in the doctrine of class warfare and filled with those who sought broad social and political rights for the working class, have been transformed into domesticated partners of the capitalist class. They have been reduced to simple bartering tools. The social demands of unions early in the 20th century that gave the working class weekends off, the right to strike, the eight-hour day and Social Security have been abandoned. Universities, especially in political science and economics departments, parrot the discredited ideology of unregulated capitalism and have no new ideas. Artistic expression, along with most religious worship, is largely self-absorbed narcissism. The Democratic Party and the press have become corporate servants. The loss of radicals within the labor movement, the Democratic Party, the arts, the church and the universities has obliterated one of the most important counterweights to the corporate state. And the purging of those radicals has left us unable to make sense of what is happening to us.

The fear of communism, like the fear of Islamic terrorism, has resulted in the steady suspension of civil liberties, including freedom of speech, habeas corpus and the right to organize, values the liberal class claims to support. It was the orchestration of fear that permitted the capitalist class to ram through the Taft-Hartley Act in 1948 in the name of anti-communism, the most destructive legislative blow to the working class until the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). It was fear that created the Patriot Act, extraordinary rendition, offshore penal colonies where we torture and the endless wars in the Middle East. And it was fear that was used to see us fleeced by Wall Street. If we do not stop being afraid and name our enemy we will continue toward a state of neofeudalism.


The robber barons of the late 19th century used goons and thugs to beat up workers and retain control. The corporations, employing the science of public relations, have used actors, artists, writers, scholars and filmmakers to manipulate and shape public opinion. Corporations employ the college-educated, liberal elite to saturate the culture with lies. The liberal class should have defied the emasculation of radical organizations, including the Communist Party. Instead, it was lured into the corporate embrace. It became a class of collaborators. National cohesion, because our intellectual life has become so impoverished, revolves around the empty pursuits of mass culture, brands, consumption, status and the bland uniformity of opinions disseminated by corporate-friendly courtiers. We speak and think in the empty slogans and clichés we are given. And they are given to us by the liberal class.


The “idea of the intellectual vocation,” as Irving Howe pointed out in his essay “The Age of Conformity,” “the idea of a life dedicated to values that cannot possibly be realized by a commercial civilization—has gradually lost its allure. And, it is this, rather than the abandonment of a particular program, which constitutes our rout.” The belief that capitalism is the unassailable engine of human progress, Howe added, “is trumpeted through every medium of communication: official propaganda, institutional advertising and scholarly writings of people who, until a few years ago, were its major opponents.”


“The truly powerless people are those intellectuals—the new realists—who attach themselves to the seats of power, where they surrender their freedom of expression without gaining any significance as political figures,” Howe wrote. “For it is crucial to the history of the American intellectuals in the past few decades—as well as to the relationship between ‘wealth’ and ‘intellect’—that whenever they become absorbed into the accredited institutions of society they not only lose their traditional rebelliousness but to one extent or another they cease to function as intellectuals. The institutional world needs intellectuals because they are intellectuals but it does not want them as intellectuals. It beckons to them because of what they are but it will not allow them, at least within its sphere of articulation, either to remain or entirely cease being what they are. It needs them for their knowledge, their talent, their inclinations and passions; it insists that they retain a measure of these endowments, which it means to employ for its own ends, and without which the intellectuals would be of no use to it whatever. A simplified but useful equation suggests itself: the relation of the institutional world to the intellectuals is as the relation of middlebrow culture to serious culture, the one battens on the other, absorbs and raids it with increasing frequency and skill, subsidizes and encourages it enough to make further raids possible—at times the parasite will support its victim. Surely this relationship must be one reason for the high incidence of neurosis that is supposed to prevail among intellectuals. A total estrangement from the sources of power and prestige, even a blind unreasoning rejection of every aspect of our culture, would be far healthier if only because it would permit a free discharge of aggression.”


The liberal class prefers comfort to confrontation. It will not challenge the decaying structures of the corporate state. It is intolerant within its ranks of those who do. It clings pathetically to the carcass of the Obama presidency. It has been exposed as a dead force in American politics. We must find our way back to the old radicals, to the discredited Marxists, socialists and anarchists, including Dwight Macdonald and Dorothy Day. Language is our first step toward salvation. We cannot fight what we cannot describe.
